My poorly chameleon!

As those of you who read my first post the other day will know, I went to the North West Philofaxy meet-up on Saturday in Manchester and had a fabulous day with some lovely people. When I got home and unpacked my bag, I was horrified to see a strange white mark on my A5 Chameleon. It looked kind of like it had been bleached or something. At first I thought maybe something white had got on the leather, but then I realised that the actual colour had gone from the leather like it had 'rubbed off' or something. It is a bit of a mystery, as it was fine when I put it away into my bag at the meet-up, so somehow, the colour must have got rubbed off that patch in my bag.
I decided that I should contact Filofax to see if they could help, as all of my filos (2 other chameleons) had been in the bag together and the others were all fine, and surely the colour shouldn't just come off?!
I e-mailed customer services on Sunday, and Monday morning I had a reply from them asking me to send my Filofax back to them freepost for them to assess it and see if they could rectify the problem.
So, last night I packed my little beauty up really carefully, and today it went off in the post and I am missing her already :( There's an empty space on my shelf :(
I hope they can fix her or replace her and that I won't have to be sad for too long.

Here is a picture of the offending white patch.
Not good! :(
I will update when I hear back from Filofax, hopefully in a few days when they have had a look at it.
I have heard that their customer service is excellent, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed...

Oh, on a happier note, I decided to advertise my personal cuban zip on e-bay as I have never really taken to it as it's really bulky, and after seeing Alison's personal holborn zip I fell in love! I put it on on Sunday and guess what? It sold yesterday - YAY! So straight away, I ordered my Holborn (obviously that will be a whole other post, so watch this space!!!) Check out Alison's blog to see her lovely family of Holborns to which she has just got a new edition.http://filo-obsessed.blogspot.co.uk/

    1. I couldn't believe it when I pulled it out of my bag and it looked like this! I have racked my brains, and I don't have any explanation at all :/ I did have to run for the train, so whether it rubbed against my other filos? (but they were fine, and the colour shouldn't just come off anyway) Well hopefully Filofax will sort it. Thanks. I will do an update post when I can. x

I'm also a filo North Wester and should have been attending the meet up, but unfortunately due to money difficulties I couldn't make it. I hope you all had a wonderful time :). Hopefully you will be meeting up again soon and I can accompany you all this time :).

    1. Hi Deb,
What a terrible thing to happen to your Chameleon beauty. I remember seeing it last Saturday and thought it looked absolutely fabulous. I loved the really tactile feel of the cover. I do so hope that you can get it fixed. Please let us know when you've some news :-))

    3. Hi Anthony, I'm sad to say thatbFilofax couldn't fix it so sent it back to me. They did also send me a letter to say that I could have 50% discount off a replacement. Unfortunately they had no A5 left in aqua, so I ordered it in red instead. I have since faded the rest of the cover on my aqua to match the white spot and it actually looks ok. Kind of a distressed/vintage look. I quite like it! I will post sone pictures soon.

    4. It's a shame that the colour came off, but I'm looking forward to seeing the distressed look, sounds like it could be better than the original :o)

  6. That is the strangest thing! I have the same A5 in Aqua and I love it. I haven't used it much; its sitting on a shelf awaiting its purpose in life. Can't believe the color would 'rub off?'. That's insane. Well, glad you were able to come up with a solution. I've seen that red A5 around the web and its a beauty. Red is not really my color but i have considered getting it should it go on offer again because the Chameleon just looks so nice in that shade of red!
